By bike from Ålesund, the road is short to the city mountain Sukkertoppen
Sukkertoppen is one of Ålesund's city mountains that rewards hikers with spectacular views.
The hike is about 2 km in easy terrain with an elevation from 50 meters to 315 meters. From the cairn at the top, there is a panoramic view of the Sunnmøre Alps, the fjord, open sea, and the Art Nouveau city of Ålesund. And it is the perfect place for a break. The bike ride from the center to Sukkertoppen is idyllic and goes through the city's charming streets, over the bridge to Hessa before reaching the foot of the mountain.
