As summer turns to autumn, and autumn to winter, profound processes unfold in nature. The pace slows, the light fades, the leaves let go, and everything turns inward. Nature reminds us to pause, breathe more deeply, and listen within. In the city, we often move in the opposite direction – autumn fills with work, activities, and celebrations, and suddenly it’s Christmas. The transition can easily get lost in the rush. Winter in the Nordics is long and dark, but if we enter it with awareness, it can become a time of nourishment, balance, and presence. What do you wish to let go of? What do you want to make space for?
This retreat is an invitation to tune into what you truly need. Perhaps you are seeking community and energy, or perhaps you are longing for calm, silence, and rest. Through movement and reflection, you can come closer to your strengths and to what you wish to cultivate more of. We hope the retreat can be a companion in this time of transition – a space to explore how you want to use your energy throughout the winter.
Nora and Sunniva run the yoga studio Terra Oslo. Both are physiotherapists with a specialization in yoga, and they share a common wish to create a space for depth and continuity. In a daily life marked by rapid changes and flexible plans, Terra is intended as a place where you can cultivate a deeper connection with yourself through regular practice. Nora has been teaching yoga since 2018 and has a background in Ashtanga Vinyasa and Yin Yoga. She is a physiotherapist specializing in Mensendieck and psychomotor physiotherapy. With a strong passion for group work, she brings a pedagogical approach to holistic health and movement. Nora believes that growth comes through a deeper understanding of one’s own body, and she aims to create space for insight, mastery, and presence in her classes. Sunniva teaches Hatha, Vinyasa, and gentle yoga, and completed a specialization in LAAIC in 2024. She is a physiotherapist with a background in Mensendieck, and for several years has led yoga courses, workshops, and retreats. With a deep interest in the connection between body and mind, she seeks to share balance, lightness, and calm through her practice. Sunniva places great emphasis on explaining and adapting the exercises so that participants both understand and feel the meaning behind what they do on the mat.
